Dieselec award_270Standby power specialist, Dieselec Thistle, has built on its achievements of the past two years by winning the AMPS (Association of Manufacturers of Power Systems) Company of the Year Award.

The bi-annual award forms part of the AMPS dinner and IP&EE Exhibition (Independent Power & Energy Europe) held every two years in Birmingham.

The award aims to single out a company that has achieved tangible success over the past two years and Dieselec Thistle’s growth, doubling both its turnover and its number of staff, since the last AMPS awards helped the company to secure the prize against stiff competition.

Angela Barnett from AMPS said, “The Company of the Year Award is the highest accolade that we bestow and it is open to any AMPS member. We have a judging panel to consider all the nominations and this year we were really looking for a company that could demonstrate what they had done to stand out in the marketplace.

“The panel all agreed that Dieselec Thistle’s achievements in progressing from where the company was two years ago to its market leading position now was quite remarkable and the award is richly deserved.”

Dieselec Thistle’s directors Gordon Taylor, Brian Muirie and Paul Moore all attended the dinner to receive the award and praised the contribution made across the company’s team to helping Dieselec Thistle grow so rapidly over the past two years.

Brian Muirie said, “This award means so much to the company because it endorses all the hard work that has gone in across the company over the past two years to help us achieve our commercial objectives.

“It’s an important milestone for us from which we will continue to build on the company’s achievements in the future.”
