We are looking for a technically competent, hands-on, Junior Project Engineer to join our team.

Working across all industries including utilities, commercial, data centres, retail and government framework contracts, this is a superb opportunity for a junior engineer to come in at ground level in an expanding company within the power generation sector.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work using their own initiative as well as being part of a long-standing team. The role is office based but there is a requirement to work on sites throughout the UK with trips away from home for short periods. Candidates must be driven and focussed, and able to rotate throughout business departments, undergoing training and mentoring, with the aim of ultimately becoming a well-rounded project engineer.

Required:
Three years’ experience in an electrical environment with applied knowledge of specification, design and installation of electrical systems in accordance with statutory requirements, laws, regulations and contractual requirements.

Duties:
• Electrical and mechanical design
• Overseeing projects from conception to delivery
• Overseeing maintenance of projects after completion
• Produce test plans for FAT and SAT testing
• Responsible for completion of all associated documentation
• Overseeing of costs and labour against each project
• Site visits, measuring up for installations
• All in line with current health and safety regulations

Key skills and competencies:
• HND (or equivalent) in electrical engineering or related subject
• Working knowledge/qualification current IEE & BS7671 electrical regulations
• Knowledge of and experience with electrical with electro-mechanical devices
• Ability to multi-task in a demanding engineering environment
• Some experience in project management, design and client liaison.
• Proficient in use of AutoCAD for electrical and mechanical design.(optional)
• Proficient in MS office suite
• ECS card
• Full driving licence
• Ability to resolve simple and complex problems quickly, efficiently and to a good end

Job Title

CHP Sales Engineer / Manager

Location

We are now extending our product portfolio to included gas CHP and have partnered with a leading international manufacturer of combined and heat and power plant (CHP) for the decentralised provision of power and heat with an electrical output of 20 to 4,500 kW.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team and help develop our CHP business.

The Role
- The ability to sell an extensive range of CHP engines (20kW to 4.5MW).
- Technical and economic appraisal of CHP schemes from energy data, site visits or technical briefs.
- Develop viable solutions in cogeneration (LTHW), tri-generation (e.g. steam) and quad-generation (absorption chiller).
- Managing sales enquiries, preparation and submission of tender responses and negotiating and concluding to order placement.
- Interfacing with our manufacturing partners and office-based sales staff and project delivery team.

Experience
- Minimum five years technical and commercial experience in gas CHP cogeneration solutions or similar role.
- Capable of liaising with high profile clients and consultants.
- Ability to create an economic feasibility study based on end users energy consumption.
- Ability to understand technical specifications, briefs and drawings.
- Experience in the tender process from site visits, client meetings and writing tender responses.

Ideal Candidate
- Must be a team player, so will be expected to fit in well with the existing DTG team.
- Must also be highly self-motivated and be able to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent ability to network with customers, suppliers and industry specialists.

Generator Field Service Engineer

Location

Scotland, Midlands, Northern England

Due to continued growth and investment, we are looking for home based experienced diesel generator service engineers.

Role Description:
Based remotely, you will be required to carry out planned servicing, repair, upgrades and breakdown response work at customer sites on generators from 10kVA – 2500kVA.

Primary Tasks:
- Maintenance on generators to include all relevant electrical and mechanical testing
- Fault diagnosis and rectification
- Installation of temporary generators
- Load bank towing and testing
- Participation in the company on call rota
- Complete and submit accurate reports in a timely manner
- Assisting with installations and commissioning
- Site surveys to assist project sales
- Control system wiring

Qualifications:
- Served a recognised apprenticeship as a mechanical/electrical engineer
- Electrical engineering IEE regs - 17th Edition (beneficial)
- Part P (beneficial)
- The ideal candidate will an experienced generator field service engineer with past exposure to FG Wilson, Perkins or similar brands

You will have:
- Strong knowledge of all electrical and mechanical aspects of generator power installations
- First class customer facing skills
- Good communication skills
- No criminal record
- Flexibility to meet requirements of service operations.
- Relevant experience in a similar role

We are looking for an experienced technically competent, hands-on Engineering Project Manager to join our team.

Apply knowledge of electrical engineering systems to manage and develop the specification, design, and installation of electrical systems in accordance with statutory requirements, laws, rules, regulations and other contractual requirements. With due regards to safety, operability and maintainability.


Duties

- Managing projects from conception and pre-production through to completion.
- Providing technical support to the project team and wider regional teams.
- Responsible for overseeing the review, initiation and execution of contracts.
- Managing project budgets and keeping costs down.
- Overseeing the maintenance of projects after completion.
- Responsible for the completion of all documentation.
- Producing test plans and reports.
- Prepare contract documentation for procurement services and materials.
- Evaluating tenders and providing recommendations.
- Carrying out effective client liaison for all projects undertaken.
- Liaising with customers on a regular basis to ensure the successful design and manufacture of products to agreed budgets and time frames.

Key Skills and Competencies

- HND (or equivalent) in electrical/electronic engineering or related subject
- Working knowledge of current IEE electrical regulations
- Should have knowledge of, and experience with, electrical and electro-mechanical devices.
- Experience in planning, project management, design and client liaison.
- Experience in interpreting specifications and preparing technical proposals.
- Ability to multi-task in a demanding engineering environment.
- A strong track record in delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Able to ensure that all H&S procedures are met and maintained.
- Resolving complex technical issues and coming up with fast efficient solutions.
- Ability to assess the financial feasibility and impact of proposed budget items and also alternatives.
