We've raised £2,500 for Cancer Research

We have raised more than £2,500 for cancer charity Breast Cancer Now through the ‘Wear it Pink’ campaign.

Our fundraising activities culminated in a Pink Day event last Friday with a raffle, pink-themed bake sale and of course all staff wearing pink clothing for the day.

DTG’s Finance Assistant, Sandra Kennedy, has led the initiative on behalf of the company with numerous fundraising activities on-going throughout the year.

She said: “We have exceeded last years’ fundraising total by more than £500 thanks to all of our bakers, raffle prize donors and staff who have continued to donate generously. Cancer is something that has touched many of us through a family member or close friend, and we hope that the money raised by us can help to make a difference through the Wear it Pink campaign.”

Breast Cancer Now’s Wear it Pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) thousands of amazing people will wear it pink in their communities, schools or workplaces for the UK's largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.

Since this first event in 2002, the campaign has raised more than £31.5 million for life-saving research. This research is working to discover how to prevent breast cancer, how to detect it earlier and how to treat it effectively at every stage to help prevent the disease from taking lives.
