We recently installed a P660-3 open generator set three levels underground in the sub-basement of Manchester’s iconic, grade two listed sky-scrapper: the CIS Tower.
The tower is the UK’s tallest outside of London and is covered in solar panels, making it one of the country’s most energy-efficient buildings.
Replacing an old generator that was beyond economical repair, the new set, which supplies backup power to the building, was craned over the car park and lowered three levels down to the sub-basement, then skated into position. The attenuation sections then followed by the same process.
