Monday mornings are not usually packed with nice surprises but this Monday was an exception thanks to news that Dieselec Thistle has been named one of the ‘1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ by the London Stock Exchange Group.
It’s the first time that London Stock Exchange has published a list of its most inspiring 1000 UK SMEs, which have all made it onto the list thanks to growth in revenue over the past four years along with an increase in employees, workspace, contract wins or patent filings. Not only has Dieselec Thistle achieved a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 68.61% over the past three years, we’ve also increased our head count, won a number of prestigious new standby power contracts, doubled the space at our Glasgow HQ, including the creation of our diesel generator test facility, and opened our London depot.
“Achieving a place on this prestigious list not only recognises what we’ve achieved over the past four years,” comments managing director, Paul Moore, “it also anticipates future growth and the role we have to play as an SME in helping the UK economy to recover. Awards and league tables may not drive the emphasis on service and technical excellence at the heart of our success but it’s great to get that pat on the back and be amongst such impressive company on the list.”
The accolade follows a number of award wins and league table achievements for Dieselec Thistle, which include making it onto the Fast Track 100 List for the first time this year, a 2013 Private Business Award and an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Paul Moore.
Xavier Rolet, CEO of London Exchange Group commented: “Our goal is to highlight the importance of SMEs to the future of the UK Economy. Our own research, and that of many others, has shown that it is almost exclusively these companies that have generated new, net job creation in the UK since the financial crisis.”
